Yuichi Honda singled in the go-ahead run in the top of the 10th inning as the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks ended the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles' winning streak at seven games with a 2-1 victory on Sunday.

Honda's two-out single to left off Hiroshi Katayama scored pinch-runner Ryuma Kidokoro from second base at Kleenex Stadium.

The speedy second baseman also stole two bases in the game to raise his baseball-leading total to 44.

Brian Falkenborg got in and out of a two-on jam in the bottom of the 10th for his 16th save.

Masahiko Morifuku (4-0) worked two scoreless innings in relief of Tadashi Settsu. Darrell Rasner (3-4) took the loss.

Seiichi Uchikawa gave Softbank a 1-0 lead with an RBI single in the third. Kazuo Matsui hit his eighth home run of the season leading off the sixth.

Nishiguchi (6-6) scattered three hits and struck out 10 without a walk. Hiroyuki Nakajima followed a sixth-inning leadoff triple by Takuya Hara with a sacrifice fly off Brian Wolfe (11-6).
