Tomoaki Kanemoto hit a tiebreaking homer off starter Tetsuya Utsumi in the eighth inning as the Hanshin Tigers edged the Yomiuri Giants 2-1 on Wednesday.
The Tigers beat the rival Giants, despite being held to three hits on the night at Tokyo Dome.
A Keiichi Hirano home run gave Hanshin a 1-0 lead in the fourth before Alex Ramirez's blast in the bottom half tied it.
