The Chico Outlaws traded Eri "Knuckle Princess" Yoshida to the Maui Na Koa Ikaika, the independent North American Baseball League has announced.
The 19-year-old right-hander will start on Saturday for Maui against the Edmonton Outlaws. Yoshida started eight games for the Outlaws last season before developing arm fatigue. She made one start for Chico late last month after rejoining the club.
Maui manager Garry Templeton, who guided Chico last season, is pleased to work with Yoshida again.
"I am excited to have Eri back pitching for me again," Templeton said.
"She looked very good against us last week and has worked hard and improved a lot this past year. She deserves this chance to develop her professional career and I'm glad we are able to offer her this opportunity."
