Yuki Otsu is poised to join Borussia Monchengladbach from J. League leaders Kashiwa Reysol, becoming the latest Japanese export to the German Bundesliga.
The Japan Under-22 striker left for Germany on Tuesday and both clubs will sit down at the negotiating table once the 21-year-old has successfully gone through a medical.
Otsu's contract with Kashiwa runs through the end of the season, but Kashiwa's director of operations Yukitaka Omi said, "We've decided to do what we think is best for Otsu."
Otsu joined Kashiwa out of Seiritsu Gakuen high school in 2008.
