The 22-year-old younger brother of Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters pitcher Yu Darvish was arrested twice last month on suspicion of possessing marijuana and assaulting a woman, police said Friday.

Sho Darvish, unemployed, was arrested June 7 on suspicion of possessing 0.012 gram of marijuana at the home of a 19-year-old female friend in Kawachinagano, Osaka Prefecture, in late January.

Prosecutors released him after suspending their decision on whether to indict him for alleged drug possession, but he was rearrested June 17 for allegedly assaulting and injuring the woman on Jan. 25, they said.

Police said he has admitted to both allegations.
