Versatile forward Anthony McHenry, who was named to the bj-league's Best Five Team last season, has agreed to terms of a one-year contract and will return to the Ryukyu Golden Kings for a fourth season, the team announced on Wednesday.
Earlier in the week, Ryukyu said in a news release that it will also bring back guards Tsubasa Yonamine and Naoto Kosuge, giving the Western Conference powerhouse a strong nucleus.
The team, which brought back Dai Oketani as coach for 2011-12, is also expected to re-sign franchise icon and frontcourt leader Jeff Newton, the only player in league history to win four championships.
