Jubilo Iwata brought Kashiwa Reysol crashing back to earth with a comprehensive 3-0 thrashing of the J. League leaders on Wednesday night.
Hidetaka Kanazono put an end to Kashiwa's run of four consecutive clean sheets to give Jubilo a 20th-minute lead at Hitachi Stadium, before Ryoichi Maeda compounded a miserable opening 45 minutes for the home side with a second on the stroke of halftime.
Last season's second-division champions then found themselves three down as Maeda notched his second just before the hour mark, leaving manager Nelsinho unhappy at the manner of his side's second defeat of the season.
