Tsuyoshi Nishioka was to rejoin the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday in Minneapolis, the club's Triple-A affiliate manager Tom Nieto said.

Nishioka made his final rehab appearance Tuesday, starting at shortstop and getting four at-bats in the leadoff spot for Rochester against Toledo. Afterward, Nieto declared him ready to return to Minnesota.

Nishioka has been out for more than two months after breaking his left fibula in a game against the New York Yankees on April 7. The Twins host the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday.

"It feels like Opening Day again for me," said Nishioka, who was hurt trying to turn a double play, taking a hard slide from the Yankees' Nick Swisher. "This is where it really starts for me and I've got to be ready."
