Minnesota Twins second baseman Tsuyoshi Nishioka, who is recovering on the disabled list from a broken left fibula, got two hits and an RBI in his first appearance in an extended Spring Training game on Saturday.

Nishioka, who was appearing in his first game since he was injured on April 7, played shortstop and batted in the leadoff spot.

"My condition is not 100 percent, but I feel this will get me ready going forward," said Nishioka, who went 2-for-3 with a single to center and an infield RBI single to second.

Nishioka, who refrained from running full speed since he still is experiencing pain, is also slated to play in another extended Spring Training game on Monday.

"I want to keep building up, taking it a game at time, so I can play at my full strength," Nishioka said. "I wasn't able to go full speed after I hit today, or try to steal any bases. So I'm not ready to play in the majors yet," he said.
