The Kyoto Hannaryz announced on Thursday that they acquired naming rights for Kyoto Municipal Gymnasium, where they play the majority of their home games. The gym will now be called "Hannaryz Arena."
The bj-league Western Conference club signed a 10-year contract, starting on April 1, and is to pay ¥25 million per year for naming rights.
According to the team, some of the money will be spent on repairs at the 2,926-seat arena, which is located in Kyoto's Ukyo Ward.
The Hannaryz are the first bj-league team to have naming rights to a home arena.
