JINAN, China (Kyodo) Cerezo Osaka slumped to a 2-0 defeat to China's Shandong Luneng in Group G of the Asian Champions League on Wednesday, leaving both teams on three points from two matches.

Renato opened the scoring in the 22nd minute as a Wang Yongpo corner kick, deflected off the head of a Shandong player, fell kindly for the Brazilian defender at Shandong Sports Center.

Wang doubled the lead 11 minutes later after the Chinese side broke down the Cerezo defense, leaving goalkeeper Kim Jin Hyeon stranded.

Tournament debutant Cerezo came close to getting one back, with Rodrigo Pimpao and Masaki Chugo taking shots on goal in the first half. Shu Kurata's shot went over the bar in the second half.
