DOHA (Kyodo) Japan midfielder Keisuke Honda has been shortlisted for the Asian Cup's Most Valuable Player award, the Asian Football Confederation said on Friday.

Honda, who has started in four of five games for finalists Japan, was among four nominees including South Korea's Park Ji Sung, Mark Schwarzer of Australia and Server Djeparov of Uzbekistan.

Honda sat out Japan's 5-0 victory over Saudi Arabia in the first round. Japan face Australia in the final on Saturday for a record fourth title.
