Ryukyu Golden Kings forward David Palmer, a former bj-league MVP, said he is vigorously working out to rehabilitate an injury and his goal is to return to competition during the first week of March. The team issued a news release on Tuesday to provide an updated timetable for Palmer's return.
Palmer has been sidelined since suffering a dislocated left shoulder on Jan. 3 against the Kyoto Hannaryz. He's averaging a team-high 14.4 points in 18 games (two starts).
In other team news, Ryukyu has released big man Abdullahi Kuso. The announcement was made on Monday.
Kuso, a 206-cm forward, averaged 8.7 points and 7.7 rebounds in 26 games. He played 17.3 minutes per game.
