Nile Murry canned a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to lift the Rizing Fukuoka to a 66-63 win over the visiting Oita HeatDevils on Sunday night in the bj-league.
Fukuoka star Michael Parker's basket tied it at 63-63 with 3:16 remaining, but neither team was able to pull ahead until Murry's late heroics.
Parker and Murry scored 17 points apiece to lead the Rizing (14-9). Parker also grabbed nine rebounds, while Murry had eight boards and seven assists. Teammate Thiago Cordeiro scored 12 and blocked three shots and Akitomo Takeno had 10 points.
For Oita (9-12), Damian Johnson had a team-high 17 points and 15 rebounds. Matt Lottich scored 15 and Hiroki Sato had 10.
Elsewhere Sunday, David Palmer had 22 points and Jeff Newton added 14 points and 10 rebounds in the host Ryukyu Golden Kings' 88-79 triumph over the Kyoto Hannaryz.
Shigeyuki Kinjo poured in 13 points, Anthony McHenry finished with 12 and Tsubasa Yonamine had an eight-point, nine-rebound, nine-assist effort for the Golden Kings (14-9), who led 28-11 entering the second quarter.
Wendell White paced the Hannaryz (11-12) with 23 points. Teammates Kibwe Trim and Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf scored 22 and 16, respectively.
