The Sendai 89ers used a big spurt to start the third quarter en route to a 105-84 home victory over the Miyazaki Shining Suns on Friday.
The 89ers (11-8), who led 51-50 at the break, seized control after halftime, outscoring Miyazaki 20-6 in the pivotal stretch of the bj-league game.
Miyazaki (6-15) trailed 79-64 after three quarters and never recovered.
Six Sendai players scored in double figures: Mac Hopson (21), Chris Holm (19), Lee Hyecheon (17) Mike Bell (15), Kenichi Takahashi (11) and Takehiko Shimura (10). Holm grabbed 16 rebounds and Hopson had 10 boards. Eight 89ers had two or more assists, with Bell dishing out a team-best eight and Hopson and Shimura handing out five apiece.
Jackie Manuel paced the Shining Suns with 28 points, while Elijah Palmer scored 26.
