KOBE (Kyodo) The Orix Buffaloes have an offer on the table for South Korean infielder Lee Seung Yeop, who was released by the Yomiuri Giants at the end of the season, sources said Thursday.

Lee, 34, who didn't see much playing time with Yomiuri this season, hopes to continue his career in Japan.

Orix is undecided on whether it will re-sign Venezuelan slugger Alex Cabrera, whose two-year deal expired this year.

Lee joined the Chiba Lotte Marines in 2004 and moved to the Giants two years later. He has a .267 average with 144 home runs and 388 RBIs in Japanese baseball.

This season, he batted just .163 with five homers and 11 RBIs in 56 games.
