GUANGZHOU, China (Kyodo) The Japan men's soccer team followed the women into the Asian Games final with a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Iran on Tuesday.

Kensuke Nagai struck the winner on the hour for his fifth goal of the tournament as Takashi Sekizuka's Under-21 side moved within one win of Japan's first ever Asian Games gold medal in men's soccer.

Japan will play either South Korea or the United Arab Emirates in Thursday's final. South Korea and the UAE were set to play later Tuesday.

The women's team beat North Korea 1-0 in Monday's final to win their first gold.

"I'm glad I scored the winner," said Nagai, who became the top scorer of the Games after Iran defender Seyed Hosseini failed to score. "I think the team's will to win was strong."
