The Tokyo Apache stretched their winning streak to three games and improved to .500, defeating the host Akita Northern Happinets 99-87 on Sunday.
Point guard Byron Eaton, formerly a player in the NBA Development League, scored a season-high 27 points for the Apache (4-4), who exploited mismatches in the backcourt as Akita's Sek Henry missed the game due to an illness. Eaton was 7-for-11 on 2-point shots, 2-for-4 from 3-point range and 8-for-11 at the free-throw line.
Robert Swift scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Kendall Dartez had 15 points and five assists for Tokyo. Jeremy Tyler and Jumpei Nakama scored 13 points apiece and Michael Chappell added 10 as the Apache offense proved too strong for the expansion Happinets in the series finale.
