The Sendai 89ers improved to 3-0, defeating the visiting Tokyo Apache 94-80 and spoiling Apache coach Bob Hill's bj-league debut on Saturday.
Mike Bell paced the 89ers with 25 points, Chris Holm added 22 points and a team-high 10 rebounds and Hikaru Kusaka and Mac Hopson scored 14 points apiece. Hopson added nine assists.
Sendai led 45-33 at halftime.
