Japan forward Keisuke Honda has signed on to help his country's bid to host the 2022 World Cup.
Japan's 2022 bid committee announced Sunday that Honda will join a team of bid ambassadors that includes former Japan coaches Zico, Philippe Troussier and Ivica Osim.
Honda, who plays for CSKA Moscow, scored two goals to help Japan reach the round of 16 at the World Cup in South Africa.
Japan, which co-hosted the 2002 World Cup with South Korea, is competing for 2022 against Australia, the United States, Qatar and South Korea.
FIFA will choose the 2022 World Cup host on Dec. 2.
