Former NBA coach Bob Hill's son, Casey, has been named an assistant coach on his father's new Tokyo Apache staff, the team announced Friday.
The elder Hill, the first former NBA bench boss to take a head coaching gig for a bj-league team, will run the Eastern Conference team for the 2010-11 season.
Casey Hill played college basketball at Trinity University, an NCAA Division III school in San Antonio. He wrapped up his collegiate career in 2007.
"Casey believes in our vision for the Apache organization and he is thrilled with the opportunity to work with his father," Apache general manager Conor Neu said. "He knows his father's coaching style as well as anyone. This puts our coaching team in sync going into this season."
