FUKUOKA (Kyodo) A baseball museum honoring the achievements of legendary home run king Sadaharu Oh opened on Saturday within the Yahoo Dome complex.

"I am just so happy that such a great museum was made for me," the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks chairman said at an opening ceremony, which was attended by Hawks owner Masayoshi Son.

Said Oh: "I'm grateful I played baseball. I hope visitors will enjoy the museum."

The museum displays baseball memorabilia from Oh's playing days and his career as a manager. One exhibit shows a replica of the Tokyo home he grew up in as a child, which was a Chinese restaurant.

Visitors can also experience pitching by professional baseball players in a virtual environment.
