YOKOHAMA (Kyodo) The Yokohama BayStars said Tuesday they have agreed to terms with former minor league infielder Brett Harper on a contract running through the end of 2010 season with a club option for 2011.

The 28-year-old Harper took part in BayStars' training on June 14 and 15 as a tryout. Harper, who can also play outfield, is set to be unveiled by the club on Friday.

He batted .315 with 20 homers in 123 games for the San Francisco Giants' Triple-A affiliate in 2008. He has no experience in the major leagues.
