Takeya Nakamura hit a grand slam and Dee Brown added a two-run homer as the Saitama Seibu Lions outslugged the Hiroshima Carp 10-7 on Tuesday.

Nakamura's 13th home run of the season put Seibu ahead 4-0 in the third inning. Brown's third homer in as many games pushed the Lions' lead to 8-1 in the fifth in interleague play at Mazda Stadium.

Hiroshima scored five runs in the eighth to draw within 8-7 but Seibu answered back in the top of the ninth on a two-run double by Takahiko G.G. Sato.

Hsu Ming-chieh (3-4) allowed two runs and six hits in seven innings for the win.

Brian Sikorski picked up his Pacific League-leading 16th save.

For the Carp, Kenta Kurihara went 3-for-4 with a homer and two RBIs.

Tigers 8, Marines 0

At Koshien Stadium, Takahiro Arai and Kodai Sakurai drove in five runs between them, Jason Standridge combined with three relievers on a four-hit shutout and Hanshin routed Chiba Lotte.

Arai and Sakurai helped the Tigers build a 6-0 lead through the first two innings.

At Yokohama Stadium, Naoyuki Shimizu threw his first shutout in two seasons and got plenty of run support as Yokohama blanked Fukuoka Softbank.

Shimizu (5-3) scattered six hits, walked two and struck out three in a 132-pitch outing. It was his first shutout since the right-hander threw a two-hit gem against the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters on Aug. 28, 2008, when he was with the Marines.
