Pierce guided the Lakestars to a 29-23 record and a berth in the Western Conference playoffs, the team's first postseason trip this season.
Under Pierce's steady leadership, the Lakestars made a 10-win improvement over their inaugural season.
Pierce confirmed the news on Thursday, two days before the bj-league's Final Four begins at Ariake Colosseum.
