The Yakult Swallows have given manager Shigeru Takada the vote of confidence, with team president Tadashi Suzuki confirming Thursday he will continue to lead the team, despite the Central League club's poor run of form.

Yakult has a meager 13-29 record with one tie so far this season and is currently mired in a six-match losing skid while sitting in last in the standings.

Suzuki wants to solve Yakult's crisis not by sacking the manager but by boosting the team through trades and the acquisition of foreign players.

"Forcing people out of jobs is not the Yakult group's business structure. We want him (Takada) to serve out the (last year of his three-year) term."
