Baruto outmuscled Kotoshogiku Tuesday to continue his impressive start to his ozeki debut on the third day of action at the Summer Grand Sumo Tournament.

Baruto improved to 3-0 and yokozuna Hakuho also stayed in a seven-way share of the lead with a comfortable win over top-ranked maegashira Miyabiyama at the 15-day Tokyo meet.

Kotoshogiku got his hands around Baruto after the faceoff but the Estonian behemoth stood firm as he pushed from the left side to hand the komusubi his first loss at Ryogoku Kokugikan.
