MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) A 33-year-old man died of serious head injuries after crashing during a practice lap Sunday at an Australian national motocross meet in Victoria State.
The crash occurred at the State Motorcycle Sports Complex north of Melbourne as riders were preparing for the third round.
Ambulance Victoria spokesman John Mullen said paramedics worked on the injured man for more than an hour but were unable to revive him. He died at the scene. All racing Sunday was later canceled, police said.
The dead man, from Queensland state, has not yet been named.
