Togo Aichi Pref. KYODO Former U.S. PGA Tour player Shigeki Maruyama shot a 2-under 68 Saturday to take a one-stroke lead into the final round of The Crowns.
Maruyama had a birdie-birdie start and went on to finish with five birdies and three bogeys for a 7-under 203 total at Nagoya Golf Club.
Last year, the 40-year-old won the season-ending Nippon Series JT Cup for his 10th career JGTO title.
Paul Sheehan of Australia shot a 67 to tie for second with Kunihiro Kamii, who stumbled to a 73 after holding the lead after each of the first two rounds.
Two shots off the pace were China's Liang Wenchong (68), Shigeru Nonaka (69), Kiradech Aphibarnrat (69) of Thailand and Yasuharu Imano (71).
Yuta Ikeda was among four players at 4 under after a 69.
Ryo Ishikawa had a 71 and slipped into a tie for 18th at 1 under.
Arimura in control
ICHIHARA , Chiba Pref. (Kyodo) Chie Arimura held on to her overnight lead with a 3-under 69 in the second round of the Cyber Agent Ladies on Saturday.
Arimura had five birdies and two bogeys to get to 6-under 138, one ahead of South Korean Jeon Mi Jeong, at Tsurumai Country Club.
The 22-year-old Arimura won this event last year when it was known as the Crystal Geyser Ladies. She is looking for her second title of the season following a playoff victory over South Korea's Park In Bee at the Studio Alice Ladies Open earlier this month.
Jeon shot a 69 and Miho Koga also had a 69 to sit two strokes off the lead.
Sakura Yokomine turned in the day's low round of 66 and Australia's Tamie Durdin shot a 70, leaving them tied for fourth at 3 under.
