The Hanshin Tigers said Monday they will donate the uniform of Japanese baseball's record-breaking Tigers outfielder Tomoaki Kanemoto to the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, N.Y., for display.

The 42-year-old Kanemoto had his Japanese baseball record streak of playing in consecutive games without missing an inning halted at 1,492 when he was left out of the starting line up in an 8-4 win over the Yokohama BayStars on April 18. His streak began July 21, 1999.

The uniform, cap and spikes he was wearing in his 1,492nd straight game on April 17 against the BayStars will be exhibited at the museum.
