NISHINOMIYA, Hyogo Pref. (Kyodo) The Hanshin Tigers have acquired former Softbank Hawks right-hander Jason Standridge, the team announced on Monday.

Standridge, who is expected to add depth to the team's starting rotation, has agreed to a one-year deal carrying an annual salary of ¥40 million.

The 31-year-old is a welcome addition from the Philadelphia Phillies' Triple-A affiliate. He had a stint with Softbank in 2007-08.

He posted a 7-1 record in 17 games in 2007 but was released during the 2008 offseason due to limited playing time caused by a right shoulder injury, which he said does not bother him anymore.
