Michihiro Ogasawara and rookie Hisayoshi Chono each homered and drove in five runs between them as the Yomiuri Giants routed the Hiroshima Carp 10-3 Sunday for their fourth straight victory.

Ogasawara hit a tying two-run homer and Edgar Gonzalez doubled in the go-ahead run before Chono capped a five-run fourth inning with a two-run shot — his first career home run — at Mazda Stadium.

"I was behind in the count (1-2), so I got myself ready to hit anything. It was a perfect hit," Chono said of the shot that traveled out of the ballpark.
