Yomiuri Giants infield and running coach Takuya Kimura has been diagnosed with subarachnoid hemorrhage, or bleeding in the brain, after he suddenly collapsed while hitting balls during pre-game fielding practice, the club said Friday.
The 37-year-old former utility player underwent emergency treatment at Mazda Stadium and was unconscious when he was taken to Hiroshima University Hospital.
