Hideki Matsui hit his first homer of the spring as the Los Angeles Angels beat a split squad of the Kansas City Royals 8-6 on Wednesday.
Batting fourth as the designated hitter, Matsui hit a changeup from Robinson Tejeda to right-center for a three-run shot in the fifth inning.
"I had a good swing on the pitch. I think my body is reacting well to pitches," said Matsui.
