Mitsutaka Goto hit a tying solo homer and Aarom Baldiris scored the winning run on a wild pitch in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Orix Buffaloes beat the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles 5-4 on Sunday.
Goto's towering shot to right came against Kazuo Fukumori (0-1) with one out in the ninth before Shinichiro Koyama threw a wild pitch to Koji Yamasaki with the bases loaded and two outs at Kyocera Dome.
"I just tried to get my swing in that situation after going hitless in the previous at-bats. As soon as I hit it, I knew it was going to be a home run," Goto said.
