The Yomiuri Giants hit eight home runs and pounded out a total of 19 hits in a 15-2 rout of the Yokohama BayStars in an exhibition game Saturday.

Hayato Sakamoto, Michihiro Ogasawara and Yoshinobu Takahashi each homered twice and combined for 10 RBIs. Edgar Gonzalez and Shinnosuke Abe also connected off Yokohama ace Daisuke Miura, who gave up 14 runs in four innings at Tokyo Dome.

Of the two candidates for the Giants' Opening Day start, Dicky Gonzalez worked three perfect innings and Tetsuya Utsumi allowed one run in three innings.

At Nagoya Dome, Tokyo Yakult's Yoshinori Sato struck out eight and allowed one run on two hits over seven innings. Ryoji Aikawa hit a solo homer and Atsushi Fujimoto and Jamie D'Antona each doubled in a run.

Chunichi's Kazuki Yoshimi gave up three runs over 6 2/3 innings.

Dragons rookie Yohei Oshima, in the leadoff spot in place of injured Masahiro Araki, stole a base in the first and scored in the sixth on a sacrifice fly by Masahiko Morino.

At Fukuoka's Yahoo Dome, Hiroshima starter Kenta Maeda threw a two-hitter over five innings and Giancarlo Alvarado scattered three hits in four innings of relief.

Tetsuya Kokubo and Kenta Kurihara each had two hits and drove in a run for the Carp.

Yuya Ando gave up six runs, all in the fourth, in five innings of work for Hanshin.
