Julius Ashby scored 23 points and collected 14 rebounds and Cohey Aoki scored 18 points in the Tokyo Apache's 80-76 road win over the Takamatsu Five Arrows on Friday evening in the bj-league.
The Apache outscored the hosts 28-11 in the third quarter and held off Takamatsu's fourth-quarter rally. Tokyo improved to 7-8 on the road and 9-18 overall.
Apache forward Michael Chappell added 17 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Rasheed Sparks had a nine-point, five-rebound, seven-assist effort.
For Takamatsu (8-21), which only used six players, Michael Gardener was the leading scorer with 22 points to go with six assists. Yu Okada scored 20 and Waki Williams had 19 points and nine boards.
