With the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics just days away, The Japan Times is continuing to get in the spirit by offering several readers the chance to win a copy of renowned Russian coach Nikolai Morozov's newly released Japanese book "Kiss and Cry."
The 239-page tome was published by Kodansha and covers Morozov's career from his days as an ice dancer competing in the 1998 Nagano Games to leading Shizuka Arakawa to the gold medal at the 2006 Turin Games.
The book details the 34-year-old Morozov's rise through the coaching ranks, including his time under Tatiana Tarasova, and includes chapters on 2007 world champion Miki Ando and former world No. 1 Daisuke Takahashi, as well as his thoughts on motivation.
Four of the skaters (Ando, Nobunari Oda, Cathy and Chris Reed) representing Japan in Vancouver train with Morozov in Hackensack, N.J.
The book also includes a section with illustrations on how to properly execute jumps.
