HIROSHIMA (Kyodo) Former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Hideo Nomo will serve as a guest coach at the Hiroshima Carp's spring camp, Carp officials said Thursday.

"Nomo will coach for us out of his goodwill," said new Carp manager Kenjiro Nomura, an old acquaintance of Nomo's. "I'm sure our pitchers have a lot to learn from him."

The 41-year-old Nomo, a winner of 201 games in Japan and the major leagues, is set to join the camp on Feb. 6.

He acted as a technical adviser for the Orix Buffaloes last season.
