Limar Wilson scored 21 points, William Knight had a 19-point game and the visiting Hamamatsu Higashimikawa Phoenix routed the Takamatsu Five Arrows 108-78 on Thursday evening.
Seven Phoenix players scored nine or more points in the blowout victory, including Shingo Okada and Wendell White with 14 points apiece. Hamamatsu (19-4) opened the fourth quarter with a 19-1 spurt to turn it into a runaway victory for the bj-league club.
Michael Gardener's 36 points led Takamatsu (8-17). Satoshi Takeda scored 13 and Antoine Broxsie added nine points and 11 boards. Shooting guard Yu Okada, the league's leading scorer among Japanese players (19.5 points per game), didn't play for the Five Arrows.
Also Thursday, the Tokyo Apache collected their 16th loss in 22 games, falling 87-81 to the visiting Kyoto Hannaryz, who earned a series sweep at Yoyogi National Gymnasium No. 2.
Hannaryz forward Josh Bostic scored a team-high 27 points. John Clifford added 19 points and 15 rebounds and Naoto Takushi handed out eight assists for Kyoto (9-15). For Tokyo, Cohey Aoki scored a team-best 27 points and center Julius Ashby, rebounding from a four-point outing on Wednesday, added 18 points. The Apache trailed 78-67 with 1:07 remaining, but scored 14 points in garbage time, including seven by Aoki, to reduce the deficit.
