Tyrone Levett scored 20 points and Antonio Burks had 18 as the Niigata Albirex BB defeated the Tokyo Apache 84-82 on Tuesday and completed a two-game road sweep in Yamato, Kanagawa Prefecture.
Center Paul Butorac, who scored a game-best 32 points on 13-for-16 shooting for Niigata on Monday, added 12 points and 14 rebounds in the down-to-the-wire triumph.
Point guard Akitomo Takeno, one of the bj-league's most exciting young players, finished with 10 points and four assists, capitalizing on increased playing time. Yuichi Ikeda scored nine.
Butorac was the Albirex's top rebounder (14 boards).
Julius Ashby and Cohey Aoki both scored 18 points for Tokyo (5-9), Shoji Nakanishi had 15, Rasheed Sparks chipped in with 13 and Nick Davis had 12.
Ashby grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds, while Davis hauled in 10.
The Albirex (4-8) outscored the Apache 30-16 in the second quarter and held a 44-36 advantage at halftime.
Tokyo led 60-58 after three quarters.
