Balanced scoring lifted the host Takamatsu Five Arrows to a 93-86 win over the Oita HeatDevils on Friday.
Michael Gardener scored a team-high 22 points and handed out nine assists as the Five Arrows improved to 3-10 in the bj-league. Antoine Broxsie added 17 points and 14 rebounds, while Kazuhiro Shoji and Terrance Farley scored 16 apiece and Yu Okada had a 13-point, seven-rebound, seven-assist performance.
Ricky Woods paced Oita (5-6) with 25 points and 20 boards and Rashaad Singleton contributed 18 points and 15 rebounds for Brian Rowsom's club. Remington Chun finished with 12 points and Yukinori Suzuki scored eight.
Takamatsu led 75-70 with 4:27 to play in the fourth quarter. Gardener then drained a 3-pointer to ignite a 12-0 spurt for the victors.
