Japan is justifiably proud that native son Hideki Matsui was named the MVP of the 2009 World Series, and Japanese fans of Matsui and the New York Yankees are eagerly watching to see what happens now.
Will free agent Matsui stay with the Yankees or leave the club?
If he leaves, where will he go, taking into consideration his weak knees which apparently preclude him from playing the outfield and make him a defensive liability? Is he limited to playing in the American League as a designated hitter?
