SEOUL (Kyodo) The Chiba Lotte Marines announced the acquisition of South Korean slugger Kim Tae Kyun on Friday.

The 27-year-old first baseman agreed to sign a multiyear contract with an annual salary of ¥150 million plus performance bonuses when he met with senior Lotte officials earlier in the day.

Kim batted .345 with three homers and a tournament-high 11 RBIs in South Korea's run to a runnerup finish in the WBC in March.
