Craig Brazell hit a two-run homer in a three-run fourth inning and Atsushi Nomi limited the damage to one unearned run in six innings as the Hanshin Tigers defeated the Hiroshima Carp 5-1 on Wednesday.
Takahiro Arai broke a scoreless tie with a one-out RBI double and Brazell followed with his blast to right off Kenta Maeda (8-14) at Mazda Stadium. Takashi Toritani cushioned the lead with a two-run drive in the ninth.
Nomi (13-9) scattered four hits, all singles, struck out four and walked one.
