The Yokohama BayStars will release acting manager Tomio Tashiro at the end of the season, a senior team official said on Sunday.

The official said Yokohama president Kuniaki Sasaki on Saturday told Tashiro, who took over the helm during the current season, that his services will no longer be required on the top team in 2010. Tashiro, 55, is on a road trip with the team in Osaka.

"There are already two or three candidates (for manager). We will decide before or after the end of the season," said the official, who asked not to be named.

The club has asked Tashiro to return to his post as the farm team's manager and, notwithstanding some minor details, he has in effect accepted his former job.
