Shinnosuke Abe hit two of Yomiuri's four home runs Thursday as the Giants routed the Yokohama BayStars 14-3 for their sixth win in eight games.
Abe had a three-run drive to cap a five-run third inning that pushed Yomiuri's lead to 7-0 and added a solo shot in the fifth at Yokohama Stadium.
Abe homered for the fifth straight game, making it seven in five contests. Yomiuri cut its magic number to 13 for clinching the Central League title.
