Substitute Junichi Inamoto struck the winner to complete an astonishing turnaround as Japan beat Ghana 4-3 with three goals in the space of five second-half minutes in a friendly on Wednesday.

Fresh from qualifying for next year's World Cup finals over the weekend, Ghana went in front through Asamoah Gyan's 31st-minute penalty and the Rennes striker doubled the Africans' advantage with a confident finish just after the break.

Kengo Nakamura pulled one back for Japan on 53 minutes only for substitute Mathew Amoah to restore Ghana's two-goal cushion midway through the second half.
