Stephen Randolph took over for starter Ryan Glynn, who was mistakenly penciled in on the lineup card, with one out in the first inning and struck out 15 batters the rest of the way in the Yokohama BayStars' 2-0 shutout of the Chunichi Dragons on Saturday.
Randolph (2-1) allowed two hits and walked three in 8 2/3 innings at Hard Off Eco Stadium Niigata. Shigeru Morikasa hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the first.
Takashi Ogasawara (5-2) was tagged with the loss for the Dragons, who dropped their fourth in a row.
