Goalkeeper Akihiro Hayashi has signed a contract with English second-division club Plymouth Argyle, it was announced Friday.
The 194-cm Hayashi has moved to England after terminating a contract on Aug. 28 with Romanian first-division side FC Astra, which he joined in July.
While playing soccer in England, the 22-year-old will remain enrolled at Ryutsu Keizai University.
In 2007, Hayashi was called up to Japan's national team training camp and helped the country reach the last 16 of the Under-20 World Cup.
